Pelicans Ladies 4th XI bagged 3 points with a 1-0 win over Dragons. Rachel Dixon and Abby Watson had outstanding games on their debuts, while Diane Redman christened her new GK kit with some stylish saves. Mel Drohan made a welcome return, successfully sweeping away Dragon's first half attacks. The defense were switched on from the off, with Rose Edmonds, Ruby Kirby and Katie Nurse marking their players out of the game. Ellie Dowers stepped up to midfield this week, showing her fitness and dedication, supporting Lucy and Charlotte Skerry in midfield, who worked tirelessly in draining heat. Pelicans were disappointed with 0-0 at the half time break, but they came back fighting, with Kassie Arlott posting up on the wing to create space for some penetrating attacks. Player of the match, Jessie Pack was finally rewarded with a classic goal from the keepers pads after a fantastic strike by Anna Wood. With Harleston up next after the half term break, it's hoped that Brian Page can motivate the girls with his training session on Monday night. We all wish Paul Swinburn a speedy recovery.
